About A PurposeFull Path

Once you decide to do therapy, you inherently establish a purpose to feel better, know better, and do better. Feeling better can mean different things for different people. For some, it may mean learning how to live with or without someone or something…whether it be a person, a pet, or something sentimental. For others, it might mean a time in their life of learning how to live in the present while navigating the path forward to learning how best to honor or understand their past. At times, we all feel wounded or slighted by life. It is the path we choose that can either mend those wounds to help us heal or harbor wounds that eventually harm us. Discovering the path that heals us may require reflection and/or action, and through the path of counseling, we can lead to a more purposeful and healthier lifestyle. The path of counseling can sometimes be short and solution-focused, while other times it can be longer and existentially therapeutic. It is through the counseling process that you begin to feel free, whole, at peace, or empowered to travel any path that may lie ahead. Counseling is a tool, like a compass to use throughout life. My goal as a therapist is to assist you with that compass to guide you to an abundance of other tools within you to use as you travel your life’s paths in the awareness and self-love that make you feel Purpose and Full again……PurposeFull.

About Me

I am a licensed professional counselor. I received my Master of Education degree in counseling from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Science degree in human development and family studies from the University of Houston- main campus. I have a combined 15 years of experience serving young individuals and their parents in a public-school setting and adults in private practice. I have worked for two notable school districts in the Houston area for the past 15 years, while working toward my license. I also worked for the Family Enrichment Clinic, and more recently with the Texas Psychiatry group. It was while working at TPG that I decided it was time to transition toward pursuing my life dream and Purpose-full Path as a private clinician.
My specific treatment areas include anxiety, depression, loss/grief, life transitions, and college/career counseling. I am also a grief specialist certified thru the Grief Recovery Method.
I am a native Texan. My dominant and primary native language is English and my second language is Spanish. I consider myself bilingual, moderately proficient. I am comfortable accommodating clients needing to process therapeutically in Spanish so long as they are comfortable with knowing Spanish is not my dominant, native language.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, reading, running, and eating! Sometimes I enjoy cooking and other times I love being catered to with good home-cooked meals or at an amazing restaurant, diner, or dive where I can explore more delectable food!

WHY A PURPOSE-FULL PATH?

My approach to therapy is client-centered and purpose driven, supported by established research and empirically supported techniques. I am your facilitator for reflection, acceptance, correction, or creation as you explore the parts of the therapeutic process used for your growth and self-discovery while in a safe space.
Clients should expect to feel heard, seen, validated, and sometimes challenged yet supported, to not only take away a deeper understanding of the barriers contributing to their struggles, but also the tools needed to nurture a healthier, new and better path toward self-fulfillment.
